How to Connect Your Facebook Pixel & Conversion API

One of the most powerful features of RapidMetrics is the ability to send data back to Meta (Facebook). By setting up a direct integration via the Conversion API (CAPI), you make the Facebook algorithm smarter, allowing it to better understand your leads and purchases throughout your funnel.

Why Use Server-Side Tracking?

Server-side tracking is crucial for scaling because it ensures that even if a browser blocks a standard pixel, the server-side data (CAPI) still reaches Meta, keeping your ROAS and attribution accurate. You can add as many pixels as you need, and one funnel can send to several of them (usually up to three).

Step-by-Step Pixel Setup

  1. In your RapidMetrics dashboard, navigate to Integrations in the left sidebar.
  2. Find Facebook CAPI and click Manage.
  3. Click the Add CAPI Token button.

Only the workspace owner or an admin can add, test or remove CAPI tokens.

Getting Your Credentials from Meta

To link the two platforms, you'll need two specific pieces of information from your Meta Events Manager:

1. The Dataset ID (Pixel ID)

  • Go to your Meta Business Suite → Events Manager.
  • Select the correct pixel/dataset and click on the Settings tab.
  • Locate and copy the Dataset ID (formerly Pixel ID) and paste it into the Pixel ID field in RapidMetrics.

2. The Access Token

  • While still in the Settings tab of Events Manager, scroll down to the Conversions API section.
  • Under "Set up a direct integration," click the Generate access token link.
  • Copy the long string of characters provided.
  • Return to RapidMetrics, paste it into the Access Token field. If you like, give your pixel a name in the Label (optional) field (e.g., "Main Scaling Pixel").
✅ Success: When you click Save Token, RapidMetrics first checks the token with Meta and saves it only if Meta accepts it. From then on, it sends events such as page views and purchases straight to Meta for every funnel that uses this pixel.

Attach the Pixel to Your Funnel

RapidMetrics sends events only for funnels that use this pixel. Open Funnels, click the pencil icon (Edit) on your funnel, tick your pixel under Pixel ID(s) and click Confirm. When you create a funnel with New Funnel, you tick it there. Only the workspace owner or an admin can change a funnel's pixels.

Verifying Your Events

After saving, you can monitor the Events Manager in Facebook. You should start seeing "Server" events appearing alongside "Browser" events, indicating that the direct integration is working perfectly.

You can also click the test tube icon (Test) next to your token in RapidMetrics. It sends a test event and shows a Test Event Code, which you can find in Events Manager on the Test Events tab.
