Syncing Facebook Ad Data via the RapidMetrics Chrome Extension
To see your actual ad spend, clicks, and ROAS directly inside your RapidMetrics dashboard, you need to pull data from your Facebook Ad Account. We do this using "Jobs" via our Chrome Extension, which automatically syncs your Facebook metrics about every 15 minutes.
Step 1: Install the Chrome Extension
First, ensure you have the RapidMetrics Chrome Extension installed. This acts as the bridge between your Facebook Ad Account and your dashboard.
- Install it from the Chrome Web Store.
- Log in to the extension using your RapidMetrics credentials.
- Open Facebook Ads Manager in the same Chrome browser. The extension links your Facebook account from there by itself, so there is no button to click. If the Jobs tab says Connect Facebook or Session Expired, click Open Ads Manager.
Step 2: Creating a Data "Job"
A "Job" tells RapidMetrics exactly which Facebook campaigns belong to which funnel. This keeps the "Spent" column on your funnel page accurate.
- Open the Chrome Extension and click on the Jobs tab.
- Click Create Job and give it a name (e.g., "Main Funnel Sync").
- RapidMetrics Funnel: Select the funnel you previously created in RapidMetrics.
- Select Ad Account: Choose the specific Facebook Ad Account managing your ads.
- Select Campaigns: Check the boxes for all active (or paused) campaigns that are sending traffic to that specific funnel. Active campaigns are ticked for you. A campaign can be linked to only one funnel, so don't pick the same campaign for two different funnels.
- Click Create.
Managing and Syncing Jobs
As you scale and launch new campaigns, you’ll need to keep your Jobs updated to ensure no spend is missed. New ad sets and ads inside a campaign you already picked are included automatically.
- Editing: Click the Edit icon on an existing job to add new campaigns as you launch them, then click Save.
- Manual Sync: If you want to see your most recent data immediately, click the Sync now icon on a job (or Sync on its details page). A calendar opens: click a start date and an end date, and the sync starts right away.
What Happens Next?
Once your Job is active, click Funnels in the sidebar and open your funnel. In the Daily Metrics table you will now see your Facebook metrics (Spent, Impressions, UO CTR, UO CPC) alongside your funnel data (F/E Leads, F/E Buyers, F/E Rev), giving you a complete picture of your ROI. The Ad Attribution page also shows your spend by campaign, ad set and ad.
